Transferring
files from the Zaurus Sl-5500 to the PC
In
order to transfer files from the Zaurus to PC or from PC to
Zaurus you will need to verify several settings.
1.
Setup the PC Software that is included with the Sharp OS
This setup will install a shortcut by default on your desktop
that you may use to connect the two.

2.
Make sure the Zaurus USB cable is connected to the PC and the
Zaurus docking station.
3.
Configure the Zaurus Manager which should have an icon in your
Windows Quick Launch in the bottom right of the Desktop.

Notice
that the connection is a USB-TCP/IP (advanced). Use the name
and IP Address indicated in the picture.
4. Setup the Zaurus PCLink so that it is just
like the example shown.

The
point is that the Zaurus and the PC must be setup to communicate
on the same network.
5.
Click the Zaurus File Transfer Button and you should be able
to transfer files.
TroubleShooting:
1. Disable any firewalls to verify that that is not the problem.
2.
Check your version of Windows.
Windows
98 SE, ME and probably Windows 2000 you will need to make sure
you load the USB drivers.
3.
Choose Start Run and then enter the command ping 192.168.129.201
so that it looks like the example and you should see the black
screen open and show that you are actually pinging the Zaurus.

This
indicates that you have a connection. If the black screen opens
and closes quickly then you do not have a connection. The Zaurus
must be on and in the docking station.
